Flogas Champion of Champions Junior Invitational all set for Powerscourt

Powerscourt Golf Club

The inaugural ‘Flogas Champion of Champions’ Junior Invitational takes places over the 36 hole Championship courses at Powerscourt Golf Club this coming Tuesday and Wednesday.

Initially pencilled in for April with a sell-out field of 240 junior golfers from 25 countries taking part, the event will now give mostly Irish junior golfers an opportunity to compete in what is sure to become one of world’s premier golf tournaments for Junior champions.

The brainchild of ‘Flogas Irish Junior Open Tour’ founder Michael Gallagher from MG Pro Golf, the tournament now has 26 junior golf tours from all across the world hosting qualifying events to compete in the 2021 event.

“Having spent many years giving junior golfers in Ireland a platform to compete on, I wanted to organise a Junior Invitational event for the world’s top Junior Champion golfers,” Michael said.

“The response since I launched it almost a year ago has been phenomenal with requests from overseas for a special exemption to compete totalling over 1,000.

“Unfortunately, recent events have curtailed the international element of the tournament but what awaits our competitors will be nothing short of spectacular.”
