Wolf eyes VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open prize
Austria’s Christine Wolf heads to this week’s VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open at Golfpark Holzhäusern full of confidence off the back of a solo second-place finish at the LET’s most recent stop in the Czech Republic.
Rising to ninth in the Race to Costa Del Sol, the one-time LET winner is teeing it up in her 99th LET career-tournament and is benefiting from the luxury of staying with good friend and homegrown talent Caroline Rominger, who lives close to Golfpark Holzhäusern.
“Caroline has given me plenty of advice on the course which has been so helpful, and I am playing nine holes with her today for some more. She said that the course is even better than last year and they have let the rough grow and made the greens a bit faster to make the course a bit more of a test, which is exciting.”
Joining Caroline’s bubble for the 54-hole shootout that gets underway from Thursday 10th September, Wolf professed to feeling more and more comfortable on Tour and everything that being a professional golfer entails as she eyes her second LET victory, following last year’s Hero Women’s Indian Open.
“I feel like I have been getting more steady year after year and I think I am just more relaxed now that I know how everything works on tour.”
A veteran of more than seven seasons, Wolf added, “I always have one eye on the Race to Costa Del Sol but doing well there is a by-product of playing well. I really enjoyed the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open and can’t wait to get back on the course this week.”
All about feeling comfortable, Wolf has a familiar face on the bag to go with her familiar housemate, with her mother joining her for the first time since the AIG Women’ Open.
“The more comfortable I feel, the better I play and I feel like the social part is a big part of being on Tour, so being able to have a laugh with my friends and family is exciting and we are all happy to be playing again.”
