West Coast Challenge to go ahead in September

The 16th at Enniscrone

Organisers of the West Coast Challenge are planning to plough ahead with this year’s four-day tournament from September 6-9.

With vaccination in full swing and the probability of a staycation year for Irish golfers, the stage is set for a successful event which will be played at four unique Irish links — Bundoran, Donegal, Enniscrone and Strandhill.

The entry fee is €160 per team member and all details (including timesheets) are available at westcoastchallenge.ie though payment is deferred until early June due to uncertainty over the pandemic.

The West Coast Challenge, which has been running for more than 30 years, is known for the camaraderie amongst the competitors and the welcome received in each of the clubhouses.

The organisers welcome both men and women and look forward to the entrants testing their skills in one of the longest-running tournaments in Ireland.

Course Play Order:

  • *Monday, Donegal, Enniscrone, Strandhill.

  • *Tuesday, Bundoran, Enniscrone, Strandhill.

  • *Wednesday, Bundoran, Donegal, Enniscrone

  • *Thursday, Bundoran, Donegal, Strandhill.

Golfers are encouraged to enter early to ensure greater choice at venues that will have Covid 19 health and safety procedures in place.

It is expected that the introduction of new World Handicapping System will make for more interesting returns this year in the battle for prizes, including Best Overall Lady
