The 33rd Audi quattro Cup saw 31 teams from 29 countries taking part in the World Final, having qualified from their respective national tournaments.
The competition was hosted at the Al Mouj Golf Course, Muscat, Oman. The links-style course, designed by International golfing legend Greg Norman offered a challenging yet rewarding game with spectacular wildlife and views of the Indian Ocean and Hajar Mountains.
Damien O’Sullivan, Director, Audi Ireland commented: “We are thrilled for our Team Ireland representatives Mike and Michael. It was clear to see the high standard of play at the National Final, so we had no doubt that our golfers would place highly at the World Final and delighted everything went in their favour to achieve this brilliant result.
“The Audi quattro Cup is an opportunity for us to thank our loyal customers by creating an experience that resonates, inspires and excites and we were already excited for next year’s edition.”
The competition took place across two days with one practice day, which offered golfers an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the course and acclimatise to the warmer conditions.
Following the competition, golfers and their guests were treated to an impressive trick-shot show by trick-shot World Champion Geoff Swain. The prize-giving took place on Monday evening at the Kempinski Hotel, Muscat, MC’d by Geoff Swain. Geoff hosted each evening event across the four days including Q&A discussions with former Formula One driver Allan McNish, former professional Soccer player Roy Makay and Andy Proudman and Piers Ward of “Me and My Golf”.
