Pictured above are Strandhill Golf Club, winners of the Flogas Holmpatrick Cup, and Woodstock Golf Club, winners of the Granard Cup.

The Flogas Holmpatrick and Granard Cups raised over €100,000 for Vision Ireland with over 15,000 golfers from 193 men’s and ladies’ golf clubs around Ireland taking part.

established din 1932 and 1933 respectively, the Holmpatrick and Granard Cups are two of the longest running charity club competitions in Ireland and remain firmly on club calendars all over Ireland.

Men’s and ladies; clubs around the four provinces dedicate one of their club competitions throughout the year to the Men's Flogas Holmpatrick Cup or the Ladies’ Flogas Granard Cup with all entry fees donated directly to Vision Ireland.

The winning pair from each competition go through to their regional final. with the winners of each regional then going through to the grand final which will take place in Mullingar Golf Club on 5 September 2025.

Strandhill won the Flogas Holmpatrick Cup and Woodstock the Flogas Granard final last year.

They enjoyed a golfer’s trip of a lifetime to historic St. Andrews where they stayed for three nights at the magnificent Rusacks Hotel and played three of the outstanding St Andrews courses.

The same trip of a lifetime is the winning prize for two lucky pairs again this year.

Vision Ireland were delighted to announce that Flogas, an incredible supporter of both professional and amateur Irish Golf, agreed to sponsor these historic golf events in 2024.

This allowed Vision Ireland to develop and promote this event and helped raise even more money for the charity.

Speaking at the launch of the sponsorship last year, Marketing Manager of Flogas, John Conroy, said: “The Holmpatrick and Granard Cups are very much part of the Irish golfing calendar for so many years. We are delighted to be part of such a historic event and to be able to support Vision Ireland’s efforts in raising vital funds for their much-needed services.”

Vision Ireland’s Joanne McCarney said: “We are indebted to the men’s and ladies’ clubs in Ireland who took part in 2024 and, by doing so, helped raise vital funds to provide essential services to people in Ireland with vision impairment.

"We would also like to thank our sponsors, Flogas who allowed us to grow this event and enabled us to raise even more funds in 2024. We would encourage all golf clubs in Ireland to take part in 2025 and know that their participation will make a huge difference in making people's lives easier who suffer with sight loss.”
