McDowell eyes World Cup spot

Graeme McDowell would love to stand in for Padraig Harrington in November's World Cup in China.

The Ulsterman could partner Paul McGInley if Harrington withdraws with his wife Caroline expecting the couple's second child days later.

After a closing 70, McDowell said: "Padraig and Paul have had the World Cup team sewn up for the last 11 years. If I got the chance to play I'd jump at it."
