Graeme McDowell says he'll do anything for a free beer - even if it means taking a drug test.

With the European Tour approving testing this week, the Ulsterman joked that it might give him another another chance to sink a few free cans.

McDowell was the first golfer to be drug tested by the French Sports Ministry at the French Open four years ago.

But he found it so difficult to give a urine sample, he was forced to down several beers first.

He quipped: "I thought if I could stay here and hang on for a bit I could get six beers down me without having to pay for them. So it worked out all right."
