Damien McGrane is back in India this week seeking his first European Tour win and a place in next month's megabucks WGC - CA Championship at Doral.

But the Meath man will face stiff opposition from Ryder Cup hopefuls Paul McGinley, Colin Montgomerie and Ian Poulter as well as world No 11 Vijay Singh in the Johnnie Walker Classic at DLF Golf and Country Club in New Delhi.

Ranked 12th on the European Tour Order of Merit thanks to his runner up finish in last month's Indian Masters, McGrane will qualify for the second World Golf Championship of the season at Doral if he can get back into the top 10 by March 10.

And he has a great chance to secure his place at this week's €1.65 million event where he is joined by McGinley, Graeme McDowell and Peter Lawrie.

Ryder Cup points are top of the hit list for McGinley, Poulter and Montgomerie with the Scot also bidding to qualify for the Masters in April.

Up eight places to 54th in the world thanks to his wins in the Accenture Match Play in Arizona, Monty must be in the top 50 by 31 March to qualify for Augusta.
