Nolan misses cut after late mistake
A double bogey at his penultimate hole proved costly for Keith Nolan in the Nationwide Tour's Henrico County Open at the Dominion Club in Virginia.
Starting on the 10th, the Bray man went to the turn two-over par before surging back with birdies at the first, fourth, fifth and seventh to get to two-under par for the tournament.
But a six at the par-four eighth cost him his chance to make the cut on the two-under par mark as he signed for a second successive level par 72.
American Bubba Dickerson leads by four shots from Norway's Henrick Bjornstad on 14-under par after adding a 68 to his opening 62 in Richmond.
"Obviously, 14 under on this golf course is pretty good golfing," said Dickerson, who holds the 36-hole lead for only the second time in his career. "There's a lot of rough out there and I've been lucky enough to keep it out. I've hit a lot of good shots and I'm making some putts."
Bjornstad is doing his best to keep Dickerson from running away from the field. The 28-year-old from Oslo is keeping pace by hitting plenty of fairways and making his share of putts, though none of his five birdies Friday came from outside of 10 feet.
"I've been hitting the ball a lot better than I did last year," said Bjornstad, who made only 11 of 24 cuts and finished No. 78 on the money list. "My putting is also getting to where I want it."
