Paul McGinley - special correspondent
Paul McGinley might be struggling with his game but the Dubliner is no slouch when it comes to e-mailing.
The Ryder Cup star went on line to congratulate the organisers of last year's Spanish Open on the magnificent conditioning at Seville's Real Club de Golf.
McGinley finished 37th as fellow Dubliner Peter Lawrie claimed his maiden European Tour title at the Jose Maria Olazabal design - a title he will defend from March 26-29.
According to a report in Sotogrande Digital, McGinley went to the trouble of emailing the club the following message:
“I believe it is important to write to you to congratulate your on your preparation of the course for the Spanish Open. In my 15 years on the European Tour I cannot remember a better prepared course. It was truly spectacular and I am looking forward to returning to Seville."
