Irish PGA joins forces with Spanish Tourism Office

The Irish Region of the PGA and the Spanish Tourism Office in Dublin have reached an agreement on promoting Golf in Spain.

Five Irish professionals and 15 amateurs will be facilitated on a golfing trip to three golf courses in the Valencia region in October – the Nicklaus designed Villaitana in Benidorm, Bonalba in north Alicante and La Sella in Denia.

Jose Manuel de Juan Gonzalez, manager of the Spanish Tourism Office in Dublin, said: “We are delighted to be involved with the Irish PGA in increasing the awareness of the strong golf brand that exists in Spain and the new courses that are coming on stream. Spain’s golf courses offer accessibility and increasingly, value for money.”

The PGA will promote the initiative through their Yearbook and other publications as well as the following, long-standing events:

Irish PGA Championship 7th - 11 July 2009

Quinn Insurance PGA Charity Trophy 18 - 19 May 2009  at the Slieve Russell Golf and Country Club
