Lisa Maguire in Women's Close final

Lisa Maguire will face Mary Dowling in the final of the Lancome Irish Women’s Close Championship at Fota Island.

Beaten by her twin sister Leona in last year’s decider, the 14-year old from Slieve Russell beat Limerick's Catherine Tucker 3 and 1 in the quarter-finals and then saw off Niamh Kitching by 4 and 3.  

Dowling continued her impressive run of form to claim a comfortable 3 and 2 win over Karen O'Neill of Douglas in her quarter-final before beating Muskerry’s Laura McCarthy  4 and 2 in the afternoon.

Douglas’s Ailish Thompson won the Ita Wallace (Plate) Championship when she came back from three down after three holes to beat Belvoir Park’s Violet McBride
