Springfield Royal Country Club in Thailand is the venue for the final stage of the Asian Tour Qualifying School.Niall Turner made a strong start in his bid to retain his Asian Tour card but there was bad news for Tara Delaney as she missed the cut at the LET Q-School in Spain.

Cork native Turner fired a four under 68 to share 11th place at Springfield Royal Country Club in Thailand with Dubliner Niall Kearney tied for 85th after a level par 72. (Scores)

The top 40 and ties will secure cards on the Asian Tour after four rounds, leaving plenty of time for both men to secure a place to play this season.

Turner and Kearney were both playing at Springfield Royal and will play their second rounds at Imperial Lakeview Golf Club with a view to competing in the final two rounds on the Jack Nicklaus designed Springfield course.

Delaney missed the four-round cut at the Ladies European Tour Q-School at La Manga when she crashed to an eight over 79 on the North Course to miss the fifth and final round by five shots on 14 over par. (Scores)

The former amateur star will still get limited starts on the tour this season, including the Ladies Irish Open at Killeen Castle from August 3-5.
