O'Donovan KO in Argentina

Lucan’s Richard O’Donovan was beaten on the 20thLucan’s Richard O’Donovan bowed out of the Argentinian Amateur Championship in the second round when he was beaten at the 20th by New Zealand’s Joshua Munn at Estancias Golf Club near Buenos Aires.

His defeat ends Irish participation in the sixth oldest amateur championship in the world following Reeve Whitson’s first round defeat on Thursday. Results

The Irish pair competed in the Copa Juan Carlos Tailhade last week, finishing third behind Australia and New Zealand at Los Lagartos Country Club in Buenos Aires province.

Whitson was sixth in the individual standings there with O’Donovan tied for 19th.
