Turner slips back in Myanmar
Muskerry’s Niall Turner suffered a back nine collapse to slip nine shots off the pace entering the final round of the Asian Tour’s Zaykabar Myanmar Open.
After opening with rounds of 69 and 68 at Royal Mingalardon Golf and Country Club in Yangon, the 28-year old Cork player fired a level par 72 on Saturday to fall back to tied 23rd on seven under par.
The former Irish Close runner up stormed to the turn in four under par 32 when he birdied the first three holes and picked up another stroke at the par-five fifth. However, he lurched home in 40 as he bogeyed the 10th, 14th, 16th and 17th.
Turner had 35 putts in his third round and is tied for 62nd in the field in that particular statistical category
Australian Scott Hend hit a 69 to lead by a shot on 16 under from Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat on 16 under.
