Houston lift-off for Lowry
Shane Lowry will get another chance to prove himself on the PGA Tour when he tees it up on a sponsor’s exemption in this month’s Shell Houston Open.
The Clara man, who soared to fame in the US with his wins over world No 1 Rory McIlroy and Carl Pettersson in the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, will join McIlroy in the field at Redstone from March 28-31.
“Delighted to have been invited to the @ShellHouOpen Really looking forward to getting back over stateside,” Lowry tweeted.
The two-time European Tour winner missed the cut on a sponsors exemption in the Puerto Rico Open last week but still hopes to secure enough PGA Tour appearances to potentially earn his card for next season.
