The 15-year old Royal County Down Ladies starlet, an impressive winner of the Faldo Ireland Series final at Lough Erne this week, closed with a level par 71 shot a level par final round 71 to finish two strokes clear of England’s Dulcie Sverdloff on 220.

Three strokes behind Norway’s Marthe Wold starting the day, Mehaffey storned to the turn in four under thanks to birdies at the third, sixth, seventh and ninth holes before a treble bogey eight at the 10th threatened to wreck her title hopes.

England’s Sophie Madden and Dulcie Sverdloff won the team award with 296 from “Ireland A” who finished on 298.  

Dulcie also won the silver pendant as runner up on a score of 222 which was equalled by her team partner Sophie Madden, Wold and Sweden’s Marina Hedlund.
