Ward wins Headfort Scratch Cup
Baltray’s Simon Ward added another piece of silverware to his collection when he captured the inaugural Headfort Senior Scratch Cup on Sunday.
The 2006 South of Ireland champion shot rounds of 71 and 69 over the Old and New Courses at the 36-hole Co Meath venue to win by a stroke from Lisburn’s Ryan Symington.

Headfort’s Brian Casey was third on 142 in what was hailed as a successful first staging and Headfort is determined to cement the event’s place on the annual calendar of Irish amateur ‘majors’.
