Killeen Castle’s Ricky Weldon, who was fourth overnight after an opening 68, slipped seven shots behind leaders Richard Wallis and Nick McCarthy of England after a three over 75 left him on one-under.

Royal Dublin’s Niall Kearney posted a 74 to share 27th spot on one-over while Old Conna’s Neil O Briain made the two-over par cut on the mark after a second successive 73.

Tim Rice (+3), David Rawluk  (+5), Mark Staunton (+6), Ruaidhri McGee (+6), Cian Curley (+7),  Paul Cutler (+8), Wayne Telford (+11), Gary Walsh (+11) and Michael McGeady (+11) all missed out.

Wallis and McCarthy have three-stroke lead on eight under par from Billy Fowles at Burhill Golf Club.

A two-hour highlights show will be broadcast four times on Sky Sports HD on Wednesday, June 12.
