O'Flaherty two clear in Connacht Mid-Am

Irish champion Gary O'Flaherty will take a two-stroke lead into Sunday's final round of the Connacht Mid-Amateur Championship at Galway Golf Club.

The Cork interprovincial followed an opening 74 with six birdies in a two under 68 to lead on two over par from Ballybunion's Peter Sheehan (76-68) and local favourite Eddie McCormack (73-71), the recently crowned Ulster champion.

The cut for the top 30 and ties fell at 17 over 157.
