Stuff to do this week: Festival of Golf and Darren Clarke at The K Club
It might be the silly season as far as domestic golf goes but there are still things to do if you're in the Dublin area this week.
On Tuesday, November 4, the third editon of Golf Ireland’s Time to Play – Festival of Golf will be held in The Ballsbridge Hotel from 5pm-9pm.
It's free of charge and billed as the “go-to” event for golfers looking for that dream golfing holiday spot, tips from the pros or simply the best value golfing deals nationwide.
According to the organisers, Fáilte Ireland, it will feature:
- Showcases from Irish golf resorts, with booking discounts
- The chance to win one of many amazing golf prizes on offer throughout the night with the opportunity to try the golf simulator
- Teas and coffees for all the guests throughout the night
Fáilte Ireland's Martin Donnelly said: “Whether you’re a novice golfer looking to tee off for the first time or a seasoned golf enthusiast looking for inspiration on your next golfing break –you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for, all within a unique festival atmosphere."
"This Golf Ireland - Time to Play event is a must for all golfers across Leinster and beyond to familiarise themselves with Ireland’s top golf clubs and resorts under one roof, while having some fun on our golf simulator and of course, being in with a chance to win one of the amazing prizes being given away on the night, kindly provided by the many courses and resorts who will be there."
"An Audience with Darren Clarke"
He could be Ryder Cup captain in 2016 but this week he's in Ireland to celebrate the first anniversary of Educogym at The K Club.
The 2011 Open champion and Ryder Cup hero will be the guest of honour at what's described as "an engaging and interactive evening" — ‘An Audience with Darren Clarke’ — at The K Club at 7.00pm on Friday the 7th of November.
Billed as "a unique opportunity to spend some time in the company of one of the world’s greatest golfers" the evening will be hosted by CNN’s Shane O’Donoghue who will also ask Darren to share the secrets of his amazing four and a half stone weight loss.
Hear the inside facts about Darren’s new lifestyle and fitness programme and get inside the head of a major winner and a man that played a deciding role in the 2006 Ryder Cup at The K Club.
Tickets for the ‘Audience with Darren Clarke’ cost €50 and include a drinks and canapés reception, three personal training sessions at Educogym and "a chance to meet the legend himself, Darren Clarke."
