The Island's Paul McBride and Faithlegg's Robin Dawson lost ground on the leaders in the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley in South Carolina.
McBride shot a second successive two over 74 in this prestigious 54-player to find himself eight shots behind Scottie Scheffler of the United States who shot a 69 to lead by a shot from overnight pacesetter Theo Humphrey on four under.
McBride is tied for 23rd after a round featuring five birdies and three bogeys while Dawson shot a 78 to slip from eighth to 28th on six over par.
Dawson fell victim to the tough finishing stretch at Sage Valley, following bogeys at the 15th and 16th with a double bogey six at the last.
