Dawson best of the Irish at Sage Valley
Faithlegg's Robin Dawson was the best of the Irish as American Scottie Scheffler closed with a 71 to edge out pal Cameron Champ by a shot to win the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley.
The 17 year old finished on five under par on the tiger tough track in South Carolina with Champ the only other player in red figures after 54 holes. Leaderboard
Irish Boys champion Dawson shot rounds of 72, 78 and 77 to finish tied for 29th in the 54-strong field on 11 over par with The Island's Paul McBride 44th on 16 over after rounds of 74, 74 and 84.
McBride was always in trouble after making a sextuple bogey nine at the par-three second in a forgettable final round.
Always good making nines on par 3s....

England's Marco Penge, who lost to Dawson in a playoff for the Irish Boys title last year, summed it up best:
Wow what a hard golf course Sage Valley is unreal!!
