Glasson Hotel and Golf Club's Colm Moriarty produced a scintillating back nine of six under 29 to retain the Castlewarden Pro-Am title.

The former Challenge Tour regular went to the turn in a pretty steady one under par 36 before kicking into top gear on the back nine.

He started the back nine with a bang, reeling off three birdies in a row at 10, 11 and 12. He parred the 13th and 14th, birdied the 15th, parred the 16th and then wrapped up his round with further birdies at the 17th and 18th.

"I played lovely today, found the fairway all day and hit my approach shots close," said the 35-year-old. "I missed a couple of putts on the front nine but putted very well on the back nine."

Moriarty will now turn his attentions to the two forthcoming Europro events in Ireland at Concra Wood July 23-25 and Mount Wolsley July 30-Aug 1

In the team competition Jimmy Bolger's 94 points grabbed top spot ahead of home professional Brian O'Brien.
