Costly finishes for the Irish in Germany

Poor finishes ended Ireland's hopes of a win in the Aegean Airlines Challenge Tour by Hartl Resort in Germany.
Stephen Grant had his second double bogey of the day at the 17th as he fired a two over 74 to slip 23 places down the leaderboard to tied 44th.
At one under, the Birr native is now 10 shots behind Sweden’s Bjorn Åkesson, Englishman Chris Hanson and South African Jake Roos, who all shot five under 67s to lead by one from Italy's Alessandro Tadini on 11 under par.
Niall Kearney bogeyed the 14th, 17th and 18th for a one over 73 that left him tied 49th on level par.
But it was an even more disappointing day for Gareth Shaw, who was three under through five holes but signed for a 77 that left him on four over.
Shaw bogeyed the seventh and ninth and then followed a birdie at the 11th with a double bogey five at the 14th and a disastrous quintuple bogey nine at the 18th.
The finishing hole has cost the Lurgan man nine shots this week - double bogey sixes on the first two days and today's nine.
