Did Rory McIlroy pop question in Paris? Answer may be "oui" says Indo "source"
Sunday paper speculation that Rory McIlroy is about to ask Erica Stoll to marry him may be about to escalate to DEFCON-2 with talk of a romantic, Wednesday night Paris proposal.
While there has been no official confirmation of a story initially reported by fun golf blog Golf Central Daily, the Irish Independent's Melanie Finn got the nod from a "source".
Neither his management spokesman not his PR firm were prepared to comment of his private life.
The usually tongue in cheek Golf Central Daily website cites close friends of McIlroy as confirming that the proposal was accepted.
Whatever the truth of the matter, the golfer did follow up his Instagram post about Tiger Woods' fitness with another last night featuring a romantic shot of the Tour Eiffel.
McIlroy proposed to tennis player Caroline Wozniacki on New Year's Eve in 2013, popping the question during the fireworks display in Sydney though they called off the wedding five months later.
The Sunday Independent speculated last weekend that McIlroy is contemplating marriage:
This weekend friends have told the Sunday Independent that Rory (26) has finally found 'the one'.
And there could be an engagement ring on the horizon. A year after this newspaper exclusively revealed that Erica (29) was the new woman in his life, friends say that Rory feels very confident that the blonde beauty is the woman for him. "Don't be surprised if you hear he pops the question, it's going very, very well," a friend said.
No doubt all will soon be revealed, one way or the other.
