Gary Collins burns up Rosslare — 41 points off plus three

Gary Collins shot the equivalent of an eight under 64 to shave a shot off the course record at Rosslare on Saturday.

The 23-year old former Irish Under 15 Boys and Leinster Youths champion, who jointly held the seven under par course record at the 109-year old club, had 41 points off a plus three handicap to win the club singles.

A regular on the Irish and European amateur circuit, Collins is now off plus four for his trouble and hopes to take his good form onto the amateur circuit in May, when he will begin competing in domestic and overseas championships.
