Dunne contending at NCAA finals

Greystones' Paul Dunne is tied for fourth at halfway in the NCAA Division 1 Championship final at the Concession in Florida.

The University of Birmingham Alabama Senior, who has had a quiet season so far in his bid for a Walker Cup call up, added three under 69 to his opening 72 to share fourth on four under par, three strokes off the lead.

SMU's Bryson Dechambeau shot a five under 67 in Saturday's second round to lead by two shots on seven under par from Illinois' Thomas Detry (71) with LSU's Zach Wright (70) three behind four under.

Dunne is tied for fourth with Southern California's Sean Crocker (68). Scores

In the team championship,  Southern California leads by three strokes on two under par from Illinois and by seven from Georgia and LSU.
