Cowley on track again in Munster Veterans

Cork’s Peter Cowley fired five birdies in a one over 70 to share the first round lead with Lahinch's Gregory Young and Moate's Bert Burke in the Munster Veterans Championship on the Castle Course at Lahinch.
Winner of the Connacht Veterans earlier this month and second in the Leinster Veterans behind Billy Donlon, Cowley and his co-leaders are two strokes clear of Tipperary's John O'Donoghue. who had three birdies in a 72.
Galway's Pat Holland had the best nett of 64 off 11 with Young a close second on 65 in excellent conditions.
The second and final round begins at 9am on Thursday.
