Gleeson three back as all eight Irish make cut in SA

Alex Gleeson followed his 65 with a two over 74 but still leads the Irish challenge in the Liberty Gauteng North Open in South Africa.

All eight of the GUI’s official party made the cut at Irene Country Club with Castle man Gleeson in 10th place on five under par, three shots behind leaders Jamie Bower (68), Rosswell Sinclair (69) and Clifford Thompson (71). 

Jack Hume and John-Ross Galbraith shot 70s to move up to tied 16th on two under with a 71 for Tullamore’s Stuart Grehan leaving him inside the top 30 on one under par.

Robin Dawson (72) and Rowan Lester (75)  were on 144 and 145 respectively while Dermot McElroy (74) and Colm Campbell (73) made the two over par cut on the mark.
