Three-way tie in Beaverstown Pro-Am
Glen Robinson, Colm Moriarty and Andrew Hogan shared first prize at the Beaverstown Pro-Am on Saturday.
Blustery conditions made life tricky but the winners coped admirably, carding four under par rounds of 68 to finish one shot ahead of Hearfort’s Joe Dillon and former European Tour winner Simon Thornton.
Moriarty and Hogan have both enjoyed success already this season but it was a breakthrough result for Robinson who did all his scoring on the back nine at the Co Dublin venue.
Robinson went to the turn in level par 36 with two birdies and two bogeys on his card but he picked things up on the back nine, collecting birdies at the 12th, 13th, 17th and 18th as he roared home in four under 32.
Richard Kilpatrick (Banbridge) piloted his amateur team to victory with 88 points, edging out Peter Jones (Coollattin GC).
