Ireland will face hosts France for fifth place in the European Amateur Team Championships with Sweden taking on Scotland for the title.

Tony Goode's charges beat Spain 3.5 to 1.5 as the Scots beat Ireland's nemesis 5-2 to take their place in the title decider at Golf de Chantilly.

There was good news in Norway where the Irish girls team beat the Netherlands in their semi-final match in Flight B as the foursomes pairing of Niamh McSherry and Valerie Clancy secured them a place in the final with a win on the 22nd. 

They now face Slovakia for ninth place while in Iceland, Ireland's women's team will face the hosts for 15th place after they fell 3.5 to 1.5 to the Netherlands in their Flight B

Jessica Ross and Sinead Sexton won 5&4 but the Netherlands took charge in the singles. Olivia Mehaffey, Louise Coffey and Jessica Carty lost on the 18th, 17th and 13th, respectively and Maria Dunne’s match was halved.
