Stephanie Meadow is in contention in Canada

Stephanie Meadow birdied three of her last four holes to keep her title challenge alive in the LPGA's Canadian Pacific Women's Open in Calgary.

The Jordanstown native, who was just three strokes behind leader world number two Ariya Jutanugarn overnight, birdied the 15th, 16th and 17th at Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club for a three under 69 that left her tied for third place with Korea's Sei Young Kim on 12 under par.

The Irish star is five strokes behind Jutanugarn, who shot a five under 67 to lead by two strokes on 17 under par from Korea's In Gee Chun.

It was a decent result in the end for Meadow, who birdied the first and third but then bogeyed the ninth and 10th and found herself well outside the top 10 until her impressive late burst of birdies.
