Hvoland leads European Amateur; Irish 11 back
Alex Gleeson, Paul McBride and Stuart Grehan are 11 strokes behind impressive leader Viktor Hovland of Norway with a round to play in the European Amateur Championship in Estonia.
Gleeson shot a two under 70 to move up 12 places to tied 43rd on two under alongside McBride (71) and Grehan (73).
The Island’s Kevin LeBlanc shot a fine 70 but like Naas’ Conor O’Rourke (74) he missed the one under par cut by a shot on level par 144.
Hovland shot a third round 63 to lead by two strokes on 13 under par from Italy’s Luca Cianchetti with Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre, Germany’s Thomas Rosenmuller, England’s Gian-Marco Petrozzi and Poland’s Adrian Meronk tied for third, four off the pace.
