Mairead Martin tied for the lead in Ladies' British Open
Killarney's Mairead Martin made three birdies in two under 71 to snatch a share of the lead in the Ladies' British Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship in Knock.
The Kerry international is tied for the lead with Chloe Williams of Wales and England's Inci Mehmet, two strokes ahead of England's Georgia Price, Italy's Alessia Nobili and Clandeboye's Jessica Ross, who began with three straight birdies but then mixed three bogeys with just one more birdie at the Belfast track.
Lurgan's Annabel Wilson is tied for eighth after a one over 74 with Castletroy's Chloe Ryan tied 12th after she birdied the last two holes for a two over 75.
There will be a cut made after 36 holes for the top 40 plus ties who will play the final 36 holes on Friday 2nd September.
