McCarron wins Rosapenna Senior Scratch Cup
North West’s Kyle McCarron romped to an impressive six-shot win in the McGinley Motors sponsored Rosapenna Senior Scratch Cup when he closed with a level par 72 on the magnificent Sandy Hills Links at the Donegal resort.
Six clear of Eddie McCormack and Tiarnan MxLarnon on five under starting the final round, McCarron’s even par effort was enough take the top prize from former Irish Amateur Close champion McLarnon, who posted a fine 71.
McCormack was third on one over par 216 after a 72 with Co Sligo’s Serryth Heavy (222), Rathmore’s Ben Best (224) and Forrest Little’s Jack McDonnell (227) rounding out the gross prize winners.
The leading nett score was 217 by Letterkenny’s Darragh McMenamin.
