Johnny Young wins first leg in Titleist Druids Glen Winter Alliance
Druids Glen's 13th hole
Professional Johnny Young had 36 points to win the opening Titleist sponsored Druids Glen Winter Alliance outing at the Co Wicklow gem on Monday.
Now running his own academy in Wexford, the former Rosslare professional edged out six-handicapper Gerry Cooney and 12 handicapper Eamonn Fox on countback with Druids Glen's PGA professional Patrick Geraghty also compiling 36 points to win the gross.
Young is the first leader of the Order of Merit, which counts participants' best eight scores in the Winter Series, which will be contested every Monday at Druids Glen or Druids Heath. (For details of dates and how it all works, click here)
