Disappointing final day for the Irish in Portugal

Massereene's Tiarnan McLarnon had to settle for a share of seventh as Thomas Mulligan came home tied 13th in the Portuguese International Amateur Championship.
McLarnon started the day tied for second following the disqualification of Ayoub Id Omar, three strokes behind England's Joshua McMahon on five under par at Montado Golf Resort near Lisbon.
In the end, things didn't go the former Irish Close champion's way, and he made three birdies and six bogeys in a three over 75 to finish six shots behind Finland's Sami Välimäki, who came back from a double-bogey six at the first to post a sensational, four under 68.
The Finn's closing round gave him a two-shot win on seven under par over McMahon, who finished with a 75.
Mulligan, who was tied seventh overnight, ended the week joint 13th on one-under after a 74 that started with the Laytown and Bettystown man making a triple bogey seven at the first for the second day running.
He the also bogeyed the 14th but eagled the par-five 17th to undo some of the damage.
Naas' Jonathan Yates, the reigning West of Ireland champion, tied for 24th on two over after a 73 that began with a double-bogey six.
