The Jordanstown talent was 76th after her opening round in a low-scoring affair at Wildfire Golf Club at JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa.

Needing a low second round to make the weekend, she started at the 10th and had two birdies and two bogeys in her first six holes before bogeys at the 15th, 17th and 18th left her facing a near impossible task.

Needing a back nine of 32 to make the weekend, her hopes of making the five-under-par cut evaporated with a double-bogey seven at the par-five fifth.

At the top of the leaderboard, Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn (64-67) and the USA's Stacy Lewis (64-67) lead by a stroke on 13-under-par from Koreans Jeong Eun Lee and Mi Jung Hur and Americans Vicky Hurst and Michelle Wie.
