Meadow blooms in Arizona desert

LPGA Tour — Stephanie Meadow opened with a three-under-par 69 in the Bank of Hope Founders Cup in Phoenix.
The Jordanstown player made birdies at the fifth, seventh, eighth and 12th at Wildfire Golf Club at JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa before a bogey at the 16th took a little of the gloss of an otherwise excellent day.
The former Curtis Cup star was four shots behind Jane Park, Michelle Wie and Vicky Hurst, who shot seven-under-par 65s to take the early clubhouse lead.
