Copa de Andalucía: Yates eight back as Hidalgo and López-Chacarra escape

Spain's Ángel Hidalgo shot his third successive sub-par score to take a one-stroke lead into the final round of the Copa de Andalucía in Malaga.

Playing on his home course, Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, the home hero added a one-under 71 to rounds of 69 and 70 to lead by a stroke on six-under-par 210 from compatriot Eugenio López-Chacarra (72 67 72).

Their nearest rival is first-round leader Victor Pastor (66 75 75), who is on level par, while Naas' Jonathan Yates leads the Irish challenge, eight shots off the lead on two-over 218 after a third round 76.

The cut for the top 50 and ties fell at 14-over-par 230 with five of the nine-strong Irish contingent qualifying for Friday's final round.
