Moynihan and McGee on the level; McCarroll on cue

Gavin Moynihan looked set for his first sub-70 round for four months before he dropped three shots in his last three holes at the wind-blown SSE Scottish Hydro Challenge in Aviemore.
Bar his unofficial GolfSixes win with Paul Dunne last month, the Dubliner (23) hasn’t made a cheque in 13 starts since he won his European Tour card at the Qualifying School last November.
With 12 missed cuts on all tours and one withdrawal due to a shoulder injury, he could do with a confidence-boosting day soon.
And he looked to have found some momentum in Scotland, where he followed an early bogey at his second hole with four birdies to move up to fourth behind Law.
But he double-bogeyed his 16th hole and then bogeyed the last in tough conditions, carding a 72 that left him tied for 20th with Derry’s Ruaidhri McGee on level par.
They’re five shots behind Scotland's David Law (27), who made five birdies in an immaculate 66 at MacDonald Spey Valley Golf Club in Aviemore to lead by a shot from Portugal's Pedro Figuerido and Welshman Stuart Manley on five-under.

Michael Hoey (73), Dermot McElroy (73), Cormac Sharvin (74), Jonathan Caldwell (75) and Gary Hurley (82) completed the scoring for the seven-strong Irish contingent.
In amateur golf, Lisburn’s Josh Black has a four-stroke lead heading into the final round of the Irish U16 Boys Amateur Open Championship at Castle Dargan.
He added a joint best of the day, one-under 71 to his opening 70 to lead on three-under-par 141 from Seapoint's David Keating.
McCarroll aims to pocket Jessie May World Snooker Championship
EuroPro Tour — Brendan McCarroll is tied for the lead heading into the final round of the Jessie May World Snooker Championship at Clevedon.
The Derry man shot a second successive 68 to share top spot with Lindrick's Luke Jackson and Falkirk's Ruan Campbell on eight-under-par.
Whitehead's John Ross Galbraith is lurking just two shots off the pace in fourth after a 70 with Tullamore's Stuart Grehan just four behind on four-under.
Brian Casey, Niall Kearney and Kevin Phelan also make the cut but Luke Donnelly and Stephen McCarthy missed out.
