Howard, O'Neill and Rice win Munster PGA event at Thurles

Jack Howard, Paul O’Neill and Tim Rice shared the spoils in the Winter Series for Munster PGA professionals at Thurles.

Played over 14 holes, they shot three-under 53s to win the Callaway Golf sponsored by four strokes from Castletroy’s Jack Ryan.

Fota Island professional Howard birdied the second, third, 15th and 18th and dropped just one stroke at the 11th.

Shannon professional O’Neill birdied the first, 13th, 15th and 18th with his only dropped shot coming on the second while Limerick professional Rice followed a birdie at the first and dropped shots at the second and 10th with birdies at the last four holes

Howard, O'Neill and Ronan Collins won the team event by five points.
