Castle Golf Club claimed the Irish Mixed Foursomes with a 4-1 victory over Ulster champions Ardglass at Castletroy.

Having seen off the challenge off Fota Island in the semi-finals stage, the Leinster side lost the top match before easing to victory.

Alan Lowry and Lisa McDonnell fell by 2&1 to Gareth Donnelly and Claire Rourke before the Dublin club claimed the next four matches.

Peter McKeever and Loraine Cunningham beat William Blackwood and Linda Coughlan by 4&3 shortly after Daniel Holland and Vivienne Cosgrave had accounted for Martin Rourke and Pauline Murnin by 6&5.

Jack Walsh and Justine Agnew had a tight, one-hole win over Raymond Madine and Dorothy McMullan while Ross McKeever and Blanaid Nally added another point with a 2&1 win on Johnny Feenan and Orla O'Neill.

It was an impressive campaign by Castle, who beat both Waterford and Ashbourne 5-0 to claim the Leinster title in August.
