McBride, Purcell and McKibbin playing catch up at Korn Ferry Tour Q-School
The Island’s Paul McBride was the best of the Irish but like Conor Purcell and Tom McKibbin, he has work to do to advance to the Final Stage of the Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying School.
McBride made three birdies and two bogeys in a one-under 70 in his Second Stage qualifier at Plantation Preserve in Florida and she 35th place, two strokes outside the top 20 and ties who will progress to the Final Stages, scheduled for The Landings Club in Savannah, Georgia, from November 4-7.
McKibbin and Purcell are in action on the Robert Trent Jones designed Highlands/Marshwood Courses at Dothan in Alabama.
Both opened with two-over 73s and lie tied 41st, three strokes outside the top 20 and ties who will qualify.
McKibbin made an eagle, one birdie and four bogeys in his round while Purcell had three birdies and four bogeys.
