Irish team captains and selectors named for 2022-24
Athenry’s Niall MacSweeney will lead Ireland’s bid for sixth Home Internationals win in nine years at Ballyliffin in 2022.
Golf Ireland yesterday named the international team captains and selectors for the next three year and MacSweeney, who has been a selector since 2012, takes over from Bandon’s John Carroll, whose tenure ended following Ireland’s win in the Home Internationals at Hankley Common in September.
“A Homes win at Ballyliffin would obviously be great, but really to facilitate the players to play their best and enjoy representing their country,” MacSweeney said of his ambitions for 2022.
