Roganstown teenager Sean Keeling left the pros in his wake when he won the Hacienda del Alamo Masters on the European Pro Golf Tour.

The Connacht and Ulster Boys champion (16), a schoolboy at Belvedere College, led by five shots heading into the final round in Spain.

He then closed with a three-under 69 to win by two shots on eight-under from The Netherlands' Aydan Verdonk and England’s Alex Belt with two-time European Tour winner Bradley Dredge three shots further back.

At the Octagonal Matches at Costa Ballena in Cadiz, Ireland's male amateurs beat Germany 6-3 on the opening day and now face France.

In the Portuguese International Ladies Amateur Championship, Clandeboye's Rebekah Gardner opened with a five over 77 to lead the Irish challenge at Montado Golf Resort.

She's tied 40th, seven shots off the lead with Aideen Walsh and Marina Joyce Moreno a shot further back after 78s and Kate Lanigan 85th after an 85.
