JJ Logue wins maiden US collegiate title by 12 shots
Irish golfers continue to excel on the US collegiate circuit where Hilton Templepatrick’s Jordan (JJ) Logue claimed his breakthrough win in the Derrall Foreman Invitational in Mississippi.
Logue followed an opening 68 with a pair of four-under 67s to win by a whopping 12 stokes on 11-under-par at Cleveland Country Club.
Playing for MS College (Mississippi College) Logue had six birdies in his opening round, four birdies in round two and six birdies in round three as Mississippi College finished second in the team event to Kentucky State University.
In the General Hackler Championship at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, Louisville’s Max Kennedy tied for fourth on nine-under-par, four shots off the lead.
The Royal Dublin man helped Lousiville tie for fourth in the team event.
