O’Beirnes win Keary sponsored All Ireland Father and Son at Castle

Castle pair David and Daniel O’Beirne captured the 2024 All Ireland Father and Son, sponsored by Keary’s Motor Group, at Castle Golf Club yesterday.

They  beat another Castle pair of Patrick and Jack Conlon in an absorbing final that went to tie-holes.

The O’Beirnes seemed in control of the final when three up after 14 but great golf from the Conlon’s saw the match level on the 18th.

The Conlons played two great shots to 12 feet on 18 only for O’Beirnes to salvage a half in receipt of a shot.

The O’Beirnes went on to win after playing the 19th solidly.

A total of 190 pairs played in the qualifying rounds the previous weekend with 22 all Castle pairs and 42 visiting pairs going head to head in Matchplay throughout the week.
