US visitors were in awe of the Dunes Course at Enniscrone during Friday’s King T Knox International Trophy.

The competition was the brainchild of Roger Moyer and his friends, who are invited annually to Pine Valley by King T Knox. In return, they put up the trophy in recognition of King’s generosity.

Played in very difficult conditions — a mixture of sun, wind, and rain — there was a big turnout of members from Lancaster Country  Club, which hosted the US Women’s Open Championship in June.

The competition is played in a scramble format, and teams consist of two overseas visitors playing with two Enniscrone members.

Victory went to Steve Danco, Sharon Danco, Brian Casey and Sean Campion, whose score of 60 nett edged out Gillespie, King T Knox, Joseph Forde and Séamus Duffy on the back nine.
